Wealthyhood vs InvestEngine for New UK Investors
Wealthyhood currently has no joining reward, so this is mainly a platform comparison. InvestEngine's referral pays a random £20 to £200 bonus once you invest at least £100 through our link.
Quick verdict
Choose InvestEngine if you want a joining bonus and an ETF-focused account. Choose Wealthyhood only if its app and plans suit you better, knowing there is no joining reward.
Provider
Wealthyhood
Wealthyhood isn't paying anyone to join right now: we can't find a current sign-up reward. It is still a tidy UK app for investing in stocks and ETFs from £1 with no commission on the free Basic plan, but it has no ISA. If that suits you, open an account through Wealthyhood's official site. Capital is at risk.

Wealthyhood
Wealthyhood Review: No Commission, No ISA. Is It Worth It?
On the free Basic plan Wealthyhood is a cheap way to invest: no commission, no custody fee, and a 0.25% FX fee only when your pounds are converted, for example to buy a US share. The big gap is tax: it only offers a general investment account, with no ISA or SIPP, so gains and dividends above your tax-free allowances can be taxed. The paid plans are hard to judge, because Wealthyhood doesn't publish how the 1% or 4% bonus dividend is worked out or capped. There is no joining reward at the moment, so judge it on the app alone.
InvestEngine
InvestEngine Review: £0 Platform Fee, ETFs Only. What's the Catch?
For a patient ETF investor, InvestEngine is very cheap. DIY portfolios have no platform, account, dealing, FX or withdrawal fee, so £10,000 in an ETF charging 0.03% costs about £3 a year in fund charges, plus a spread InvestEngine doesn't publish. Managed portfolios add a 0.25% fee, which comes to about £43 to £45 a year all-in on the same £10,000. The cost that isn't on the price list: InvestEngine keeps all the interest on your uninvested cash. The trade-offs are once-a-day trading, three to four working days to get money out of an invested portfolio, email-only support, and no shares, Lifetime ISA or Junior ISA. Treat the referral bonus as a sweetener: three times in four it is £20 to £24, the expected value from InvestEngine's own odds is about £30, and it has to stay invested alongside your £100 for 12 months.

FAQ
- Is Wealthyhood or InvestEngine better?
- For a joining reward, InvestEngine: Wealthyhood currently offers none. Beyond that, compare the account types and costs you need.
- Should I value InvestEngine's bonus at £200?
- No. It is random between £20 and £200, so plan around the lower end and treat the rest as upside.
