Monese invite: up to £10 in two £5 stages, if the fees don't eat it
Monese's invite page pays £5 for activating the physical card and making one card payment, and £5 more after £500 of spending, within a year of opening. After a £0.99 transfer in, that's about £9 net, or about £4 if you're charged £4.95 for card delivery. Worth it only if you need a stopgap account anyway.

How to claim
- Sign up in the Monese app through the invite on this page, with ID, a video selfie, an email address and a phone number.
- Order the physical card. Monese's fee schedule lists £4.95 for delivery (£25 express); its pricing page says delivery is free with a £100 first deposit.
- Stage 1: receive and activate the physical card, then make one card payment of any amount. The terms say the virtual card counts for that payment.
- Stage 2: spend £500 (the amount the app shows) on card purchases or qualifying transfers abroad. Count it from after your first payment.
- Finish both stages within 1 year of opening the account. Each £5 is paid into your Monese account once the transaction settles, which can take up to 72 hours.
Eligibility & requirements
- 18 or over and living in the UK, Germany, Lithuania, Belgium or Italy. The account needs UK residency or clear links to the UK, and you can hold only one Monese account.
- Your £5 per stage is stated on Monese's invite page; the app is the final word, so check it shows your £5 before you order the card.
- Payments to other financial products, such as credit card bills or PayPal, don't count towards either stage.
- Transfers abroad: the invite page counts money sent outside the EU/EEA, while the terms count transfers to non-Monese accounts in any currency except GBP, EUR or RON. Card spending in pounds is the simpler route.
- Each invite covers at most 15 sign-ups, and every sign-up uses a place even if it never qualifies. Codes can't be combined.
- Monese is an e-money institution, not a bank: your money is safeguarded but not FSCS-protected. Monese can change or end the programme without notice.

Pros
- No credit check, proof of address or fixed income needed: ID, a video selfie, an email address and a phone number.
- UK account details, with EUR and RON accounts in the same app.
- No full CASS switch, and stage 1 needs only one card payment of any amount.
Watch out for
- Card delivery is £4.95 in the fee schedule, which would take almost all of the first £5.
- Pay As You Go charges £0.99 per bank transfer in and £1.29 per transfer out, plus £1 a month after 12 months with no payments in or out.
- The second £5 needs £500 of card spending or qualifying transfers within a year.
- No interest and no FSCS cover.
FAQ
- How do I get the £10?
- Sign up through the invite on this page, activate the physical card and make a card payment of any amount for the first £5, then spend £500 by card for the second, all within a year of opening the account. Each £5 arrives once the payment settles, which can take up to 72 hours.
- Is ordering the card free?
- Not always. Monese's fee schedule lists £4.95 for delivery (£25 express), while its pricing page says delivery is free with a £100 first deposit. Check the app before you order.
- What does the Pay As You Go plan cost?
- No monthly fee, but £0.99 for each bank transfer in, £1.29 for each transfer out, 2% on debit-card top-ups and 3% on foreign-currency card spending. After 12 months with no payments in or out, it costs £1 a month.
- Is this a bank-switch bonus?
- No. Monese is an e-money account, not a bank, so there is no CASS switch and your money isn't FSCS-protected.
